The Heroines
Kelsy Karter & The Heroines is an Aussie/British rock & roll band with global success, whose debut album Missing Person was critically acclaimed and a thrilling introduction to this four-piece known best for their unique songwriting, electric live experience, and theatrics on and off the stage. Kelsy Karter, who grew up as a theatre kid in Australia, fronts the band while drummer Sebastian Boyse, guitarist Matt Peach, and bassist Tommy Gent all grew up together in Derby, England.
Karter has garnered a reputation for having a rebellious approach to building her band’s profile by breaking moulds, creating opportunities, and executing genius marketing and creative strategies on a budget of almost nothing. TIME magazine compared her to Ozzy Osbourne and Alice Cooper when she used social media as a tool to prank the world for the promotion of their hit Harry. With her polarizing persona, Kelsy is no stranger to online hate, which she finds every opportunity to capitalize on both online and on stage, using her fearlessness to speak out on bullying, self-expression, and the art of not giving a f*ck.
The band’s social media presence spanning over 800k consists of their stellar live performances, comedy skits, touring anecdotes, and self-help advice led by the potty-mouthed but sincere Kelsy Karter—proving this act is more than just a band. They’re a whole damn circus.
The Heroines have spent the past few years touring the world as headliners, support acts, and festival staples alongside Billy Idol, The Struts, The Hunna, Palaye Royale, Anti-Flag, Black Stone Cherry, Download Festival, Rock Werchter, Rock For People, and more. Rolling Stone Magazine named their debut album Missing Person as THE album they recommended in print, calling Kelsy a “beacon for female rockstars” and highlighting their song God Knows I’ve Tried. The Foo Fighters even cited the track as one of the handful of songs that inspired their 2021 record Medicine At Midnight. In 2024, Kelsy Karter & The
Heroines won the Spirit Award at the 12th Annual She Rocks Awards, recognizing Kelsy as a woman of great influence in the rock ‘n’ roll music scene today.
Now, Kelsy Karter & The Heroines are back with their highly anticipated sophomore album, Love Made Me Do It—an electric and emotional 14-track rock opera that’s already receiving five-star reviews. The record dives deep into their signature guitar-drenched sound, steeped in elements of glam rock and '80s punk, making it both undeniably timeless and entirely of the moment. The album also features a special guest appearance from guitar legend Steve Stevens, whose
iconic playing brings even more fire to the record.
Kelsy Karter & The HEroines is currently setting stages ablaze on their Lightning in a Bottle world tour, with their album release LA show at The Roxy proving to be a mega event featuring rock icons like Billy Idol and Pat Smear in attendance. The band continue to do things their own way, carving a Heroines-only path and fearlessly redefining what it means to be modern day rock n‘ roll stars.
